Fish of Albany, Guest House
Pregnant and parenting teens find a welcoming atmosphere and direction.
The Tomato Festival in downtown Albany is a great opportunity to raise funds by selling our freshly grilled quesadillas made from our homemade tortillas and salsas.
Excerp from Albany Democrat Herald
"Martha Mendez and Robin Stover of Heaven's Garden, Inc. of Albany dish up quesadillas with homemade tortillas on Sunday during the second annual Tomato Festival in downtown Albany. The benefit was a fund-raiser for the Fish of Albany Guest House, a shelter for pregnant and parenting teen. The two women also served a variety of dipping sauces they make from produce they grow themselves. Mendez and Stover spent two days making parmesan-garlic and jalapeno-pesto tortillas they grilled for those who stopped at their table. Fish Executive Director Annette Hobbs said more than 150 people attended the Tomato Festival, and the agency raised about $4,000."
